Beyond the Alaskan Borders
On exhibit in September is work from 4 different Homer Photographers including Taz Tally, Chris & Carol Beverly, and Laural Sabin. Each artist is very unique in their styles, showing their photographs from other parts of the world - outside of Alaska.

Bunnell Street Arts Center

Bunnell Street Arts Gallery in September will present 

Erin Ggaadimits Ivalu Gingrich
The Allaŋŋuq (Change) project will create a new body of work and online exhibition centered around the concepts of change, adaptation and transformation in the natural world/environment/wild relatives/beings here in Alaska as represented by carved, painted and beaded mask/ sculptural forms. Featuring dual representations and transformations, some of the beings and their processes of transformation include Sandhill cranes, Berries, Salmon, Seals, Arctic Fox, Ptarmigan, weasel, Caribou, Tundra moths/butterfly, long tailed duck, and snowshoe hare. For more information, visit BunnellArts.org

The Dean Gallery

Open Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday 1-5 pm and by appointment. September exhibit details TBD
​The Dean Gallery features a broad selection of local contemporary art, from sizeable focal point metal and wood wall art to bronze and wood sculptures, carved wood panels, and specialty prints on wood, metal, and paper. You’ll also find a variety of art gift items, including greeting cards and stickers.

Diamond Ridge Art Studio

Diamond Ridge Art Studio is open on the Homer Shores Boardwalk (on the Homer Spit), specializing in fine art by local artists and unique gifts from Alaska. For more information and hours of operation, visit DiamondRidgeArt.com.

Fireweed Gallery

Open Mon-Sat 10 to 6
Fireweed Gallery's September exhibit will be announced on their website at a later date. The gallery features art by Alaskans--paintings, sculpture, jewelry, metal art, wearable art, glass, indigenous works and more. It is also the home of the Kachemak Bay Watercolor Society. Homer Art & Frame

Open Mon-Fri 10 to 6, Sat.10:30-5:30 
Visiting Polish artists Jolanta Surma (macramé) and Tadeusz Pieta (basketmaking) will display their work in a gallery exhibit at Homer Art & Frame in September.
Jolanta is an award-winning expert in the field of artistic weaving.
A worldwide exhibitor, Tadeusz has 20 years experience as a basket artist specializing in willow.

Homer Council on the Arts

Open Monday through Saturday, 1-5pm. 
The September exhibit at Homer Council on the Arts is all about local talent! Homer Council on the Arts is highlighting the artists and makers of our community in our annual Member Showcase. Stop by the gallery during First Friday on September 3 from 5-7pm. Pratt Museum & Park

On exhibit in the Pratt Museum's downstairs gallery during the Alaska World Arts Festival is Universal Connections: Experiences Bringing Us Together, a mix of photographs from around the world curated by Sarah Borgen. ​Explore the art, culture, and science of the Kachemak Bay region at the award-winning Pratt Museum and Park. Special and permanent exhibits, historic Harrington Cabin, botanic gardens, and forest trails. Located at 3779 Bartlett Street in the heart of Homer. This exhibit is curated by Sarah Borgen. Ptarmigan Arts

Open 7-days/week 10 am - 6 pm
This exceptional art gallery has existed in Homer, Alaska on Pioneer Avenue since 1984. Now a cooperative owned and operated by its member artists, this year-round gallery carries quality local artwork and handcrafted items including original watercolor and acrylic paintings, pottery, fine woodworking, jewelry, sculpture, metalwork, fiber/wearable arts, stained and fused glass, photography, Alaskan fine art prints, and cards. Not only do our artists create and sell their work at Ptarmigan Arts — they also staff the gallery, providing our customers and visitors with expert knowledge of the artwork. Sept. Exhibit: TBD.
